Meet the Chair
Professor and Chair of American Studies Chad Heap has a broad portfolio of teaching and research interests that include the study of sexuality, gender and American culture, and U.S. social, cultural and urban history. He has published a number of works, including Slumming: Sexual and Racial Encounters in American Nightlife, 1885-1940, which examines the relationship between sexuality and the city in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
