Endocrinology Laboratory (Research Laboratory of Robin Bernstein)
Research Director: Robin Bernstein
Senior Research Assistant: Heather Drought
Research Assistant: Lynn Copes
Our Endocrinology Laboratory is located in the GW Medical Center thanks to the generous support of GW's Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology. There, Dr. Bernstein and her colleagues perform enzyme immunoassay analyses on biological samples (serum, feces, urine) of non-human primates. By building a comparative base of information regarding important physiological regulators of life history characteristics in non-human primates, this research contributes to an understanding of the evolution of human life histories.
Students participating in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Summer Research Internship program, and in the Bioinformatics and Biomaterials NSF-REU program, have joined GW undergraduate and graduate students in the work.
