Undergraduate Programs
The Department of Biological Sciences offers a BA, a BS, and a Minor in Biology. All undergraduates in the Biology Program must fulfill the general degree requirements for the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences. In addition, all biological sciences majors must complete:
- Introductory Biology for Science Majors (BISC 11/1111-12/1112)
- General Chemistry (CHEM 11/1111-12/1112)
- Organic Chemistry (CHEM 151/2151-154/2154)
The majors curriculum must include at least 3 laboratory courses and 4 credits from each of the following areas:
- Cell and Molecular Biology (BISC 102/2202-112/3212)
- Suborganismal and Organismal Biology (BISC 114/2214-142, 182)
- Ecology and Evolution (BISC 150/2450-169)
