Background

Alex received his B.S. in Geography from the University of Florida, where he focused his studies on the social and environmental causes and effects of climate change. He put his passion for the environment into practice with Portland, Oregon-based Ecos Consulting, where he served first as a research intern and later as a project associate on a large energy efficiency program. During this time, Alex developed an appreciation for the wide-ranging, positive effects that forward-thinking management can have on an organization's performance and began considering graduate school. He relocated to DC, where he undertook an 4-month internship with the influential government accountability think-tank The Sunlight Foundation. Alex choose to put his ideas and interests in organizational management into practice with GWU's Organizational Sciences Masters program, where he looks forward to studying the science behind the workplace. His goal is to one day become a leader in an organization where he may put the ideas and knowledge he will develop in this program into practice, influencing operational design and organizational strategy.
