Background

Before coming to GW, I studied philosophy, human rights, and research methodology. I also taught English in China. While at GW I have been a teaching assistant for classes in International Relations and Scope and Methods of Political Science. My research interests are in international security and international relations theory. My dissertation addresses issues of institutional change in the international system. I am also working on projects in the study of peace treaties, interstate peacemaking practice, and international normative change. I am also interested in research design and methodology, in particular the possibility and desirability of mixing various methods.
