I've primarily lived and worked in Sub-Saharan Africa over the past eight years, conducting field research related to conflict and aid interventions. During this time I co-founded a small non-profit that supports local peacebuilding initiatives in post-war communities. I also consulted for the South African Human Rights Commission, the International Organization for Migration, and Oxfam GB/the African Centre for Migration and Society. At the DC-based Stimson Center, I received a Scoville fellowship to research peace operation effectiveness. Each of these experiences has informed my academic interest in justice, accountability, and effectiveness in international aid.
