Background
I am a first-year PhD student focusing on problems related to oil and oil dependence. I grew up in Venezuela and moved to the US to attend college first at Northern Michigan University (very close to home) and later at Georgetown University where I was awarded a Fellowship in Language and Area Studies to study Portuguese. I have worked for Mitsubishi International Corporation and interned for USAID. In addition to being a PhD student I currently work for Boston University and serve on the Board of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities.
