BA in Conflict Studies, Middle East concentration, Gallatin School of Individualized Study, New York University

While an undergraduate, Annelle conducted research on political agency in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and on national identity in Oman. After graduating she moved to the Middle East to work as a journalist. Writing about the Egyptian and Yemeni economies in the final years of their respective ousted regimes illuminated the differences between the actual and perceived role of the United States in these countries, and the region as a whole.

Annelle joined GW's program in 2011 with the primary research interests of global political economy, nationalism, and the political and economic relationship of the United States to the Middle East.
