B.A. in Political Science and Islamic Civilization and Societies, Boston College
I am a third-year PhD student specializing in comparative politics of the Middle East, with a focus on civil-military relations. Before coming to GWU, I conducted research on a Fulbright Fellowship to Oman; studied Arabic in Egypt and Jordan; and interned with a company in Kuwait. I also spent a year working in Washington, DC, for an organization supporting political and economic reform in the region.
I have assisted Comparative Politics of the Middle East, Theory of War, and Introduction to Comparative Politics courses at GWU. I look forward to teaching a seminar I designed, Security and Insecurity in the Middle East, Fall 2014.
