Background

Originally from New York City, I studied for my BA in Health and Societies at the University of Pennsylvania and my MPH in Global Health at Emory University. I also hold an MSc in Global Governance and Diplomacy from Oxford University, where I was a Clarendon Scholar. My current research focuses on the relationship between information dissemination, sovereignty and compliance in global health governance. I am also interested in English School theory and in using global health governance as an empirical context in which to explore the pluralism/solidarism debate. My professional background is in global health, and I have worked for the WHO, Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative, and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Bureau of HIV/AIDS. Some past projects include an evaluation of Ghana's Buruli ulcer surveillance systems, formative research on the integration of traditional healers into formal healthcare systems in Ghana and South Africa, and a study of how development-focused NGOs conceptualize and operationalize empowerment.  I'm a huge pro cycling fan, and in my spare time you can likely find me at the theater, baking, or reading whatever I can get my hands on.
