Areas of Expertise —

Professor Goldman's areas of expertise include political philosophy, religion and politics, political theology, and history of conservative political thought.


Ph.D., Harvard University, 2010.


Professor Goldman’s teaching interests range from ancient republicanism to early-modern debates about church and state to contemporary democratic theory. His research centers the religious sources of political norms and values.

Dissertation —

The Shadow of God: Strauss, Jacobi, and the Theologico-Political Problem.


Professor Goldman has published in The American Conservative, The New Criterion, and Maximumrocknroll, as well as others.
