Background
Professor Chang received her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (2002). Her interests include: pre-modern women's writing, early modern narrative and poetry, the history of the book, and the intersection of politics, gender, and sexuality in early modern French texts and culture. She has recently published a monograph on book production and the concept of female authorship in early modern France. Her newest project focuses on concepts of maternity, nation, and the figure of the queen regent Catherine de Médicis during the wars of religion.
