Background
Eugenia Gresta received her degree in Russian Literature at the University of Rome and her Ph.D. in Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. She has recently moved to the US after three years in Rome, where she taught Russian at the Università “La Sapienza”. Her research interests include contemporary literature and poetry of the second half of the Twentieth century. On this topic she has written extensively and recently published a book on Moscow underground poetry of the 1970s and 1980s, Il poeta è la folla. Quattro autori moscoviti: V. Nekrasov, L. Rubinshtein, M. Aizenberg, A. Tsvetkov. Dr. Gresta is currently editing a collection of studies by renowned Italian Slavist Michele Colucci and, with her students in Rome, she is working on a project about Italian translations of Russian rock and pop songs.
