36 credit hours consisting of 3210 and 3220; eight 3000-4000-level courses in Spanish and Latin American literature, distributed as indicated immediately below; and, in the senior year, Span 4910-49. The eight 3000-4000-level courses must include two in literature before 1800, two in literature since 1800, and four chosen from among all 3000-4000-level courses. Additionally, up to two 3000-4000-level courses may be taken from outside the program, with the approval of the advisor. No more than four courses taken abroad or at another institution may count toward the Major (excluding GW Study Centers in Argentina, Chile, and Spain).
